November 30, 2006 Hello Turtle
Divers!
I recently had the pleasure of diving with you all again on November
21st. I have done a lot of diving in different parts of the world and I
must say that your operation is the best I have ever experienced. I will
definitely be back again, and would recommend Provo Turtle Divers to
anyone interested in a great diving experience.
Everyone on your staff is courteous, friendly, and really know their
stuff!
Every detail from making reservations, transportation, gear rental, the
fabulous Chucks Honey, the guidance and instruction from the captain and
crew, not to mention the excellent dive sites... all add up to an easy
and thoroughly enjoyable adventure.
Special thanks to Captain Murray, Jim, Mark, and the lovely Lisa!!
I hope to see you all again soon!

November 7, 2006 Good Afternoon,
Melinda!
I wanted to follow up
with you after my return from my honeymoon in Turks & Caicos. I really,
really enjoyed diving with your operation last Friday, November 3,
2006. Now I know why all of the divers I talk to have been talking
about the beauty of Turks & Caicos for so many years...
Thank you all again,
and I look forward to my next visit to Turks & Caicos to join you
for a more
extended diving adventure!
Sincerely, Joe O.

Dear Melinda,
My wife and I are safely back in New York after a wonderful week in the
Turks & Caicos. I did not want to neglect to thank you for making my
reservation which provided me with five days of really great diving. My
thanks also go out to the boat captains Murray and Dave and the dive
leaders Mark, Alena, John and Tony who made the experience one I will
not soon forget.
Your operation was one of the best I have experienced. I don't know many
divers but rest assured that any I meet will get my strongest
recommendation to utilize Provo Turtle Divers if and when they visit the
T & C. Again, thanks to you and all the staff at Provo Turtle Divers for
a wonderful vacation dive experience.

Hi Melinda,
Vicky and I are still talking about the fabulous time you (PTD) showed
us while we were in Providenciales July 24 through August 3. I finished
my trip report regarding our trip to Turks & Caicos and I thought I
would send you a copy.
The report is about two pages long. I am only sending you the part of
the report regarding Provo Turtle Divers. I didn't think you want to see
my comments regarding travel and dining. Please know that you and all
the wonderful members of PTD gave Vicky and I a vacation that we will
remember forever.
If there is anything you need here in the "states" that you can't get in
Providenciales (except a second boat), please don't hesitate to contact
us to see if we can help you.
Thank you again for all of your help. Please tell everyone we said
hello.
Your Diving Buddy,
Paul "Mack"
Diving with Provo Turtle Divers, Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Island,
July 24 August 3, 2004
Provo Turtle Divers is THE BENCHMARK dive operation upon which I will
now compare all other dive operators.
I spent a month conducting Internet research regarding the various dive
operators on the island of Providenciales in the TCI. While there are
several operators on Providenciales, the one that stands out above all
others is Provo Turtle Divers (PTD). My first experience with PTD came
from Melinda who keeps the operation's office running like a Swiss
watch. (She's not only the Office Manager, but also a very capable Dive
Instructor). No matter how many stupid questions I would fire off to her
via email, she always answered my questions in a timely manner and with
great detail. I greatly appreciated her personally answering each of my
questions and not providing me with 'canned' answers or referring me to
their web site (like several other operators' responses) for answers.
Melinda always encouraged me to email if I had any further questions
(she didn't know what she was getting into with me).
The PTD boat crew includes Murray, Steve, Jean, and on occasion Riquez.
This is the FINEST group of Dive Instructors and boat handlers that I
have ever had the pleasure of diving with in my 29 years of diving
experience. Safety is the number one issue with the PTD crew. Their
outstanding professionalism is only exceeded by their great attitudes.
No aspect of my PTD diving experience was left out or over looked by
these wonderful crewmembers. They really make sure that your boat and
diving experience is exceptional. I was particularly impressed by the
way they make every diver feel welcomed and at ease, no matter how long
it's been since your last dive; and this through no extra effort on
their part. They make themselves available to answer any question or
help with equipment issues. Capt. Dave, Murray, Steve, Jean, Riquez, and
Melinda work exceptionally well together and clearly love their work.
They are like one big happy family who wants to invite you into their
home and spend as much time as possible with you.
PTD operates a 42-foot Newton custom dive boat ('Chuck's Honeyx) that
can handle as many as 30 divers. Luckily, Captain Dave does not allow
more than 19 divers on the boat at any time. 19 divers sounds like a lot
of divers on the boat, but the boat is so spacious that I never felt
crowded. One of the many enjoyable aspects of PTD begins on the first
day of diving. As we headed out to the first dive site of the day, one
of the crewmembers (Jean) came by and asked each diver the level of
their diving experience. Based upon a diver's experience, divers are
divided into 2 or maybe 3 groups of divers (the number of dive groups
depends upon the number of divers on the boat). The most experienced
divers are assigned to 'Group 1' and usually dive with either Murray or
Capt. Dave. I dove with Group 1 divers the entire time I was with PTD
and at no time were there more than 4 divers with a Dive Master; it was
awesome. Experienced divers are not required to take the 'guided tours'
with the Dive Masters, provided that they dive according to their
computers and do not exceed 130 feet. DECO DIVING IS NOT PERMITTED ON
Chuck's Honey. BE ADVISED THAT THERE IS A STRICT RULE OF NO BANANAS ON
CHUCK'S HONEY (It's a long story). Dive Groups 2 and 3 usually dive with
either the ever popular and extremely experienced Steve or Jean.
Prior to each dive, Capt. Dave used his fantastic artistic abilities as
he drew on a white board the area on which we would be diving. His level
of pre-dive detail is astounding regarding the coral, the walls, and the
marine life you can expect to see at each dive site.
The dive boat (Chuck's Honey) provides: 2 freshwater showers, 2 coolers
- one for underwater cameras and one for drinks that you might bring on
board (not necessary however), a dry table, various tools for repair and
cleaning equipment, good amounts of cover from the tropical sun, a large
upper deck for sunning during surface intervals, a very CLEAN marine
head (you could eat off of the seat if you so choose), and the amazing 'Wonderbar'.
The Wonderbar is a single-handled, multi-dispenser of ice colds drinks
including cranberry juice, island punch, and water to name a few. Also
available during the surface interval are 3 types of fresh fruit, chips,
crackers, vegetables and peanut butter.
I was able to make 12 dives to 12 different dive sites during my time
with PTD. Any dive site selected by Capt. Dave did NOT disappoint me.
The dive locations took place off of the Northwest Point of
Providenciales and off of the island of West Caicos. All of the dives
were 'Wall Dives'; and the corals were in excellent condition with
bright beautiful colors. Every dive was spectacular! I was able to dive
with either Murray or Capt. Dave because I wanted an experienced Dive
Master to show me things I might miss if I took off on my own. Both
Murray and Capt. Dave have keen eyes for spotting many types of marine
life. Some of the marine life we encountered included Caribbean Reef
Sharks, Dolphin, Nurse Sharks, Rough tail Stingrays, Spinney Lobster,
Hawksbill Turtles, Octopus, Red Banded Lobster, Eels, Burr Fish, and
Barracuda. For those of you who like the smaller creatures we saw Wire
Coral Shrimp, Pistol Shrimp, Jaw fish, Sea Urchins,
Diamond/Secretary/Arrow Blennies.
Visibility at all the dive sites was easily in the 80 foot range or
greater. My wife is a non-diver, but that did not spoil our vacation.
'Bubble watchers' are allowed on Chuck's Honey for a mere $30/day and
that includes fins and snorkel equipment and access to the fresh fruit,
snacks and cold drinks; quite a deal I must say. The crew really helped
my wife feel at home and gave her the 'run of the ship'.
By the way, not to be overlooked, PTD provides complimentary shuttle
service between ALL the resorts on Providenciales and the PTD
office/dock. This was a nice touch due to the cost of gasoline
($4.00/gallon) on the island if you rent a car.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I wanted to take a moment to
thank you for sponsoring the Underwater Images Video Competition prize.
I couldn't have been more excited to find out that I won a trip back to
visit your operation. In 1995 I became a certified diver while diving
with you and staying at Turtle Cove Inn. I have fond memories of my
first trip to Providenciales and my stay with Turtle Cove Inn, but my
recent trip with your operation was even better than I could have
imagined.
The new owners of Provo Turtle Divers have done a fantastic job in
taking an already great dive operation and making it even better.
"Chucks Honey" was so comfortable to dive from, better than any other
landbased boat I've been on in many years. The attention to safety and
diver comfort is evident in so many ways. The dive briefings were the
best I've ever had on a landbased operation. The site drawings were very
accurate and informative. The use of a weighted hang bar and hookah line
provided that additional safety margin I've only seen on liveaboards.
The "wunder bar" and variety of snacks were a welcome treat on the ride
out to West Caicos and French Cay. Those are just more examples of the
attention to diver comfort that I've never seen on a land based dive
boat, only on liveaboards. It's so nice to see your company taking some
of those ideas and incorporating them into your business.
The combination of Art's knowledge and the enthusiasm shown by Dave and
Piers is sure to be a winning combination. Leslie made us feel right at
home from the moment we checked in until we had to return home. The
DiveMasters and Instructors were all top notch. I will highly recommend
your operation to anyone that's considering Provo diving. In particular
I was so impressed with the open water checkouts done by Riquez. I'd
have him do checkout dives for my family members, a compliment that I
would rarely give to anyone. I watched him work with the students and
was impressed with his professional approach, they got a much more
thorough checkout than my dive shop ever gave me. Good work!!!
In my four days of diving your operation managed to put us on the best
diving available from Provo. We got to dive at West Caicos, French Cay,
Northwest Point and Grace Bay in my brief visit. The diving was some of
the best I've ever experienced during my 5 trips to Provo and that
includes a few liveaboard trips. The entire dive staff should be
commended for their attention to diver safety while providing the diving
freedom I truly appreciate. You accomodated divers from all skill levels
from Resort Course to Advanced Divers without inconveniencing any level
of diver, truly a remarkable feat.
Your entire organization made this trip very special for my brother and
I. I can't thank you enough! Please feel free to share this letter with
your entire staff and anyone considering a trip to dive with Provo
Turtle Divers.
Sincerely,
Marc W.

Hey,
This is Russ Knight. My girlfriend, Sue Henry and I went on dives with
you guys three days last week. Everything and everyone was great.
Thanks!
I make my living teaching Customer Service to the employees of companies
in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. All Provo Turtle Divers
were very nice, but Christy was exactly the role model for what I teach.
She is an example of what Great Customer Service can be. We especially
appreciated her enthusiasm and energy with all her customers.
Thanks Again......

We dove with you during June (14 dives) and I wanted to let you know how
much fun we had. I want to give special thanks to:
David (from Spain) who was always informative and friendly. He went out
of his way to make sure we were having a good time and pointed out a lot
of interesting information. He kept my kids laughing and motivated and
pointed out important dive tips to my son and daugheters.
Dave (Big David) who was our dive master on several dives. He is an
exceptional dive master, going out of his way to be helpful, extremely
inforamative underwater (great slate!), very knowledgable, freindly and
helpful on the boat as well.
Riquez who kept our equipment functioning even on short notice right
before a dive. We have more "Snickers" bars to share with him.
Captian Mike who is an outstanding boat handler, informative, attentive
to all divers in and out of the water, and provided a lot of information
and insight on T&C.
We really loved diving the walls and all of you made the diving even
better. The boat is very comfortable and well designed. It was great to
have cold sodas and snacks after the dives.
I hope to dive with you again someday.
Regards,
Eric and the rest of the Adams Family.
